MISCELLANY,     ORIGINAL AND SELECT. War Office, April 22.—Hospital Assistant J. Mac- kenzie M.D. of the 40th regiment, to be Assistant     Surgeon. NOTICE TO MARINERS.—The light-house at Dunge- ness is now painted red ; a black beacon buoy, with a staff and ball, is moored at the West-mouse, and another at the east end of the Gunfleet Sand, at the entrance of the Swim. All the buoys on the north side of the Queen's channel are now white, or partly so. The buoy at the western entrance of the Horse channel is black. These changes ought never to be made without timely notice, else ships returning for a long voyage may be led into error.   IMPORTS AND EXPORTS.—The grand total of the offi- cial value of the whole imports into Great Britain dur- ring last year was £41,739,609, and the exports £63,225,272, the latter, being about one-third more than the former. THE BLACK NATIVES.   The arrival of the post on Thursday brought the mournful intelligence of a new series of murders, com- mitted by this savage and indictive race, among whose victims we lament to state, is Mr. George Taylor, jun. youngest son of Mr. George Taylor, of the Macquarie River. He is the same young gentleman who distin- guished himself two years ago, with such valour and in- trepidity in warding off an attack of the gang of rob- bers conducted by Brady. He had left his fathers stock hut, on the Lake River, after breakfast on Saturday last, but not returning that night as he had intended, his brother became anxious for his safety, a search was made for him next day, and in the evening his dead body was found at two miles distance from the hut, transfixed with many spears, and his head dreadfully shattered from blows, inflicted either with stones or waddies.
