SUICIDE OF AN - UNSUCCESS FUL LITIGANT. A man named John Howard shot himself at Braid wood yesterday.. He was plaintiff in a slander case against a man named A. Graham, in which he claimed £200 damages, but was' only awarded a farthing. , The judge, in reviewing, said that according to the evidence the plaintiff had no character to lose. Howard at once returned home and shot himself.

MASSACRE OF ARMENIANS. The ;?' Times '. publishes a special report of three columns, devoted to hideous details of systematic massacres by Turkish soldiers. The correspon dent states that he counted 320 dead bodies in one spot. The outbreak proves to be more serious than at' first expected. It is supposed to have origi nated among the Turks in Armenia, and spread to the adjoining town of Kharpat. It resulted in 1600 Arme nians being massacred. ! The American Mission at each place was burned, but the missionaries escaped unscathed.

A demonstration on May 9 was nuvle against Turkey. The Armenian patri archs at Constantinople admitted that the Armenians committed excesses, which were provoked by some massacres made by the Turks. The Sultan is alarmed at the increas ing signs of sedition among Ali Pasha's army.
