CORNWALL CHRONICLE.   LAUNCESTON V. D. Land, Saturday, Feb. 20, 1836. " Liberty with danger is to be preferred to slavery with security. SALLUST." We know not a subject that can be more pleasing to the reflecting mind, and to the well wisher of his country, under the present circumstances of the Colony, than the Port Phillip speculation ; because, it carries with, receiving the liberal management of its pro-   jectors, the probability of its proving at no distant period, the source from which this Town will be sup- plied with animal food. We believe the public to be yet in the dark, as to the views entertained by the " Company," and others engaged in the exportation o sheep from this tide to Port Philip, as it regards the disposal of the proceeds of the property; whether it be for the fleece or carcass, we are uninformed.
