On Thursday last, tbu 28th instant, the Lord Bishop of Newcastle paid a visit to Dray ton, and this day held confirmation. His Lordship preached a most excellent and affecting sermon, fully com menting on the various sacred and important-duties connected with parents and children. I believe the Bishop will leave this for Ipswich in a day or two. There is still a £reat cry out for drays, in this quarter: many stations. have, I understand, been quite hard up for rations, .more especially flour, which has been sold at an enormous rate. THE NEW ENGLAND GOLD FIELDS. We have received the ArmidaU Express of flie 25th instant, from which we extract the following items : — . . ? The Rocky River. [fbom odu special cobbespondest.] The weather continues beautiful; the grass )is springing up fast, which is much required to improve the condition of the dray horsos, of which we ntw feel a scarcity. If the new rush to the huad.o] Sawyers' Gully should turn out well, the wasbipg stuff will have to be carted double the distance tt had to be from Mount Jones to water. This iietv rush is 'turning out better the furthor the diggers' move upwards. Souiu prospects weigh as high 'as, 8 dwts. to the bucketful of stuff.
