i Mexican Barbarity. The saying of :Gen. Santa Anna, very soon after the battle of- Buena Vista, " see hate bjftfete prisoners, they are mostly dead," vu pregnant with meaning1. It indicated that the savage mode of warfare pursued by his troops »o the battle-field, was adopted with his sanction and probably at his command. Whenever tbe Mexican infantry or lancers, in matching about upon the battle-ground, came across a wounded American soldier, they distantly pierced him with a bayonet or lancei; The valiant Col. Clay and others fell victims to this dastardly species of barbarity; s . ' ty Col. Seth Salisbury has become associated with J. J. C. Cantine, in the publication of the Harrisburg Argus.
