The Earlu's special of last week announced tho fact to its readers that Florida and Louisiana had both go no Republican, electing General Ilayee, hut that Hie Democrats were attempt ing to pick up a vote 6oinevhcrc in the northern States. Our dispatch was very correct. Louisiana went Republican by about 4,000 majority, and Florida a little less. The vote that the Democrats tried to secure was in Oregon. That State went Re publican by an undisputed majority of 1,500, but oue of the Kcpublic&n electors had been a postmaster. Tho Democratic Governor of Oregon for that reason attempted to count him out, issuing the certificate to a Demo crat by the name of Cronin, who pro ceeded to the room where the Repub lican electors had met and demanded i. vote.
