' The city council met in adjourned ees elon last evening and if the amount of time consumed were the sole judge of its importance, few sessions have been 89 weighty as this one. It was nearly 11 o'clock when a motion to adjourn was carried. When the- roll was called the following were present, besides Mayor Menefee, Councilman A. R. Thompson, SI. T. Nolan, G. C. Eshelman, K.
