The yearly review of trade issued by the British custom commissioners shows hat the United States has resumed its position of being the chief source of the cotton supply, much to the detriment of India, which sent 5,000 cwt. less in 1876 than in 1875. .Louisiana sugar lands, according to tbe New Orleans Time?, are rapidly in creasing in value, since a stable and hon est State government has been secured. Plantations that a year ago could have been bought at $15 per acre are now worth '1-if and sugar lands are now justly regarded as the safest and most re liable investment.
