Wright and Gilbert their mileage according to the old law: that is. according to the usually travelled route. Now. we all ' know, that the usually travelled route from Washington to California, is by the way of i New York and the Isthmus of Panama — ! the mileage, therefore, of Messrs. Wright and Gilbert, has been decided by the committee on mileage accordingly: which, for! ...

COMMERCIAL. RECORD. [Newspaper Article] — Sacramento Daily Union — 21 April 1851

COMMERCIAL. RECORD. Reported far the Daily Union. Sacramento Market, > Saturday, April 19. \ The sales to-day have been light and the price of articles has undergone no marked or important variation from those reported yesterday. But at retail the trade has been brisker than on any previous Saturday for some time. The demand for supplies being regulated by the wants of the mining districts above, we may expect as the weather becomes settled, and the means of transportation fully established, that trade will assume a more regular standing, and price* be less sii'.ieet to fluctuation.
