FOOT.'('it.l1' LABOR LEA GlIE. The proximity of State and Federal elections was probably responsible for the large attendance at Tuesday night's meeting of the Footscray Labor League. Three propositions for membership were received, a good deal of thought and consideration was given to arrange ments for electoral campaigns, and divisional committees were appointed to look after the interests of MIr I. Mathews, M. P., in this portion of Mel bourne Ports, and Mir I. It. Fenton, 1M.I'., in the North Footscray and Braybrookl portions of Maribyrnong. MIr Lionel Kelly was appointed dele gate to an electoral conference to be held at the Trades' Hall and Mr W. Stuldd to the Flemington State Elec torate Council.

OJBIITUARY. MRS. KIATE WEBB. Regret was expressed on all sides locally at the death of Mrs Kate Webb, relict of the late Richard John Webb and mother of Dr J. Ramsay Webb, which took place at the latter end of last week. Decneased, who was in her 78rd year, was well known to many Footscray residents, the result of her fairly long residence in this distrtct, and wnas greatly esteenmed for her many 'lovable qualities. The funeral took place at the Boroondara cometery. The RvC. J. T. nnglin omeciated at the graveside andt the moriuary arrange ments were cariied out by NIr W. A. Warne. There were many handsome floral tributes..
