M31e. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) At the Wardens Court at Moe on Thurs day last the following lease applications were recommended, viz-for coal :-The Victorian Coal Mining Company; the Gippsland Coal Mining Company: the Hazelwood Coal Mining company, all these mines situated at Hazelwood . For gold-A. Lamond, 60 acres at Tanjil. W. Hampton and others 60 acres at Russel's Creek. A   large number of coal applications are now being made about Boolara. At the same court several debt cases of no particular public interest were also dealt with. A man named Hansen was committed for trial at last Traralgon court for stealing a gold watch from S. Hale, of Maryvale.

Princes Bridge Station Robbery. Several thefts have been made at the Princes Bridge Station fromn unsuspecting travellers. Efforisf have been tiiade by the police to foil the movements of.the light fingered gentry, but on accounrit of the difficulty in watching met in a crnsh, very few of the offenders have been brought to book. Several persons have recently been robbed wvho declined to;lay informa tion, probably thinking that the money woald not be recovered, and tliheir time only wasted. The largest robbery that has come under notice- was perpetrated about 6 p.m. on the 3rd inst. on a now arrival named Edward Notting, acarpenter. elo canme over from Gippsland the day before the robbery was committed, and had about £33 10s in £1-notes and a half-asovereig ih his pockets ; also a pawn ticket for a box of tbols, which he valnes at £40. Yesterday the work of removlng the. tifsn augur that is to test the company's ground on the south side of the line, about three miles from the present site of opera. tions was commenced. At the old site everything is now bIsy. A start has been made to build a bridge across the river, and the ground is being cleared for the erection of macbhinery and buildings. The company are about to enter into n contract for the immediate carting of 300 tons of coal to .Morwell to be forwarded to Melbourne. Over a dozen men are now employed, antd Mr. Wyatt is only waiting to get a fair start to largely supplement this complement.
