.. IF .. OUT OF GEAR What do you give Baby .I for his Cold ? Foolish mothers dose their babies- with home-made concoctions or something recommended by a neighbour, and perhaps upset the little stomach and make the baby cross and uncomfortable by this mistaken economy. Wisc mothers do not experiment with untried nostrums, but depend oh a remedy which has been compiled from the scientific prescription of a famous physician, and is designed to cure the cold without upsetting the digestive organs. Dr. Sheldon's New Dis covery is this remedy, and mothers may give it to their babies, secure in the knowledge that. coughs and colds will ho longer rack the little bodies. For Croup, it has the most wonderful results. Whooping, Cough is cut short by the use of Dr. Sheldon's New Discovery. For all the family ills resulting from throat, chest or lung complaint, the mother's resource is Dr. Sheldon's New Discovery. ~jS W ~ 5-.· 5 Dr. Sheldon's New Discovery is the quickest, safest, and best-lknow...

HOW TO MAKE A MEASURE OF -LIQUIDS. ' A very simple methodd for making a container for, liquors whichi measures oIf, say, a quart at each time. the li quid is poured, is to take. a large cy lindrical can, and piut- in a fTlse bottom which holds about a quart -between this and the bottom of the vessel. Ai one side of the false bottom is an opening which connects with the main body of the can, and on the other a tube leading to the mouth of, the vessel, so that the mouth connects in reality only with the before-mentioneed space. This space being filled with the liquid, we tilt the can down so as to keep the level in the main chamber below the orifice, and prevent further entry to bottom chamber, so that the bottom chamber now holds just -one quart, and can be emptied at the mouth of the can.-"Scientific Ameri can."

TESTIMONIAL TO THE HON. E. H. CAMERON, M.L.A. To THE EDITOR Sir-Now that the.Hon.E. H,Cam eron- has definitely decided to retire from political liferafthe >end of neat session, it seems to. me that :some public tribute should be paid Ito him in consideration of his long and valu able services to the Electorate of Evelyn during the-last 40 years. I would suggest that a fund be raised for the purpose of presenting a fit ting testimonial on his retirement. To this end I have forwarded a don. ation'to the Editor of the "Evelyn Observer," at Kangaroo Grounds (being Mr Cameron's home) in order to give this landable object a start, and feel sure that the public will readily second my proposition. Yours faithfully, E.' C. SKARDON. 442 Drummond street, Carlton. -
