POLIUE OURTT' MONDAY, 31STa OcTOBEn. (Before the Mayor. and Mr. T. S. Kendall.) lHonora White- was summoned by Johannah. Ryan for a violent assult. Plaintiff stated that on Wednesday, 26th ultimo, her husband and defend ant's husband had words about some tools. About two hours afterwards defendant's wife came to her house and asked her what talk was it that she (plaintiff) had that morning, Plaintiff said that she did not want to have any talk with her, and that if she (defendant) did not go away she wo'uld give her the contents of asaucepan, in which was boiling water. Defendant said, "Will you, you wrdtch I" and ran at her (plaintiff), caught her by' the hair of her head, and shoved one side of her face into a camp-oven full of boiling soapsuds.
