THE AUSTRALIAN MEAT QUESTION. On Friday, December 29, an interesting meeting was held, under the presidency of the Hon. F. G. THE ^SETTLER'S SOME. , Awat for ainid the. forest dense, Rear a clear flowing stream, ? Hemmed in by rugged mountains, Where rivulets teem. Here is the home of the settler, A nice, neat little cot ; Amid the beauties of natnre, He's content with his lot. Bound his oot appears the garden. Beautifying the scene, The fruit trees their blossoms have ehed, And changed iheir hue to 'green. His waving corn-fields too are seen, Signs of toil and 'stall, Also his children shepherding, Denote benign good wilL ? No oares or trouble doth he know, For now happy is he, No frown e'er clouds his pleasant brow, But constant signs of glee. Bushman. Seymour, February 24, 1868.
