At a general meeting of the share holders of Amalagamated Wireless of Australasia Ltd the Chairman of Directors, Sir Thomas Hughes, out lining the agreement entered into with the Commonwealth, to establish an effective high-speed wireless ser vice between Great Britain and Aus tralia, said the Company would pro ceed immediately with a compre hensive plan of development, includ ing a direct commercial service be tween Australia and England and between Australia and North Ameri ca. All classes of messages would be dealt with at a 53 1/3 per cent, re duction on existing charges. It was proposed at a later date to extend the wireless service to South America', the Far East, India, and Africa.

SENTENCED TO DEATH. THE MOREE MURDER. Sydney, Thursday. ' At the Narr&bri Circuit Court yes terday Johrf Jeremiah Curran was charged with murdering ThoBiae Hogan, Mayor of Moree. A plea of insanity was entered. The jury re turned a verdict of guilty, with a re commendation to mercy. The death' sentence was passed. The evidence showed that as( a crowd streamed out of a church, in to the main Btreet at Moree op. Dec ember 11th a man, holding a gun stepped from behind some orflr. meatal trees in Nthe street. Shots were flr&a and Hogan fell dead on the footpath. Constable Hall stated accused told him his troubles commenced with the erection of a stadium in 1916 for which he was refused a license. This seemed to prey on his mind.
