A STR ANGE OMISSION. /To the Editor of the Scrutineer J. gir, — Itia a suggestive fact, showing how little the clauscs of the new Electoral Act have been studied by our Parliamentary representatives, that none of them have drawn attention to the probably uninten tional absence of any qualification on the part cf Parliamentary candidates. It is not even, I believe, required of them that they should possess tho electoral rrancniRe. Lon sequently, unless the Act is amended we may have the spectacle of a man disqualified as r. an elector seeking a seat in the Legislative Assembly. There would be nothing to pre vent a perfect stranger, who had not been an hour upon our shores, seeking the suffrages of any constituency he might fanoy, A measure which contains such absurd possibilities necessarily requires careful con sideration least it unintentionally creates the possibility of new electoral abuses in place of those sought to be removed.
