Oddfellows' Sports at Kyogle. The rising centre known ns Kyogle liad its first, rt-d-lt-ttpi- day, so far as a Bporks gathering is concerned, on Mon day last, the occasion being the in augural sports in connection with the local Oddfellows' Lodge. From early . morn visitors streamed into the town rrom all points 01 the compass. The ?weather proved beautifully fine. Shortly after 10 a.m. the members of the Kyogle Lodge of Oddfellows mus tered al tlie School of Arts, and in a short time an imposing procession was marshalled by' P.G. Bro. 0. Green street, headed by the. Casino Brass Band (under the leadership of Mr. R. Kiley), with the Oddfellows' banner following. Over forty members of the Kyogle and Casino Lodges, adorned with regalia, and a member of Roya! Foresters, marched from the School of Arts along the main road as far as the bridge and back to the hall. The difficulty of getting capital for the proper development of the Held seems to be the chief drawback, due in a large measure to holders of leases asking too high a price from capitalists for ' shows' which they are unable to develop themselves. The pust year's results show no improvement on the previous term, and the outlook is somewhat disappointing, from t lie fact, that many miners have insufficient means to prosecute the different min ing locations they hold to deeper levels. M'Dougall, of- Casino, re- ports an unusually brisk demand for district properties, and has completed sales as under : — Farm at Kyogle, on the   Ettrick side, the first of the bunch, to Messrs. Wade and Sons, of Euroa, Vic- toria, at £7 15s per acre. Mr Wade speaks in high terms of the district, and is bringing his family here immediately. Farm of 115 acres, at Kyogle, to Mr. Vary, of Gippslnnd, at £9 per acre. And to show that Mr. S.
