A Monster Preps.—The Scientific American thus describes a monster steam press, upon which Moses S. Beach, who has just retired from the New York Sun, is at work : "He is even now just completing the construction of a monster steam printing press, by which the sheets are cut from the rolls, dampened, printed upon both sides, at the rate of fortj thousand impressions an hour, folded up counted, and delivered from the machine, ready for the carrier and the mail. This machine is as high as a common twostork country dwelling house; and it will, when finished—if the expectations of its inventor are realized—constitute a most extraordinary specimen of mechanical skill and ingenuity."
