Proposed _Press Association . One of the most evident needs of the College at the present time is a Press Association . Whoever has at any time observed how effectively Gettysburg has been either misrepresented or not represented at all in in the daily newspapers will at once endorse the above proposition . We learn that the College has suficied more or less in this respect almost from the time when she first engaged in inter-collegiate athletic contests . But during the past few years the grievance has become more aggravated , and is now almost intolerable . The reason for this seems to be two-fold . First , there is no appointed and responsible reporter or body of reporters in College , who have obligated themselves to send regular and correct reports to the papers , Second , some journals almost invariably misrepresent our Institution in dates , names , places and events . Whatever may be the motive of these papers the fact remains that very few Gettysburg reports are accurately ...

The 99 _Speetfum . • As it is nearing the time for the Spectium to appear , and as a number of inquiries have been made concerning the annual it seems to be a fitting time to say something concerning the 99 Spectrum . All the mateiial of the book has been in the printer s hands for some time and the staff is busily engaged in coirecting proof . It is the expectation of the business manager to have the Spectrum out by the first of June , or not latci than the seventh . This will give the board an excellent chance to distribute the copies subscribed for by the students and also to get a good start before Commencement . The 99 Spectrum will be square , the pages being 9 inches by 9 The cover will be of basket cloth , of a light olive color , and an aitistic design drawn by H . M . Cumbler , 99 , will appear on the cover . Something has been said before of the principal features of the Spectrum , but it will be well to state them again . The Alumni Depaitment will undoubtedly be very in...

IT is very gratifying to note the marked improvement of conditions in the Literary Societies . It is evident that a new spirit , a new life and a new activity have been substituted for the old sluggish and desultory interest which has so long characterized the workings of our Societies . These _oiganiz-ations deserve much ciedit for having revolutionized some of the bad methods into which they had fallen . It is certainly to be hoped that in the future there will always be a laige number of earnest and faithful men in both Societies , who , for the sake of the students and of the College , will prevent the inteiest in this woik fiom diminishing . IT will be interesting news to many of our readers to leain that a number of extensive improvements aie being made on the College campus . Probably the most striking improvement is to be seen at Dr . McKnight s house , around the north and south sides of which a beautiful veranda has been built , adding very materially to the appearance of ...
