Preaent ConsumpHoa Heavy and Market Tearleaey Weaker —What Cooler EKKH Coat —• Receipts , New York , June 7 . —While the movement of esps to the coolers this • week has been liffht it is thought by the best authorities that there are close on to 750 , 000 cases in the coolers oi New York and Jersey City at the end of this week . This is a record breaker . If Chicago has 1 , 000 , 000 cases as is reported , and Boston 250 , 000 , and Philadelp hia 170 , 000 , there are more than twice as many eggs in the coolers of these four cities now as were in this time a year ago . when there were about 1 , 300 , 000 cases away . This is not onlv a- record breaker for June , bnt it eclipses July of any year , when tha holding , are usually at high tide . New York , June 7 .- —Following closely on the heels of the recent Rothenberg Bros , egg swindle in which many West Washington merchants were bitten , comes another swindle of somewhat less magnitude in which merchants in the same district were caught . The perpetrator of this job is L . Pilsinger , who is also known as A . and IT . Pilsinger , an all around crook and gambler whose past record is most unsavory . Under the name of : A . Pilsinger he conducted a small poultry concern at 178 Orchard street and negotiated weekly credit among * the merchants in the West Washington market . For a few months his accounts were promptly paid and he was considered a good customer . He did not show up last week as usual , however , and when Samuel Werner , one of his creditors , investigated the cause he found th...

The market has ruled very firm this week and it has been no trick at all for the receivers to get % e to lc above the offlcal quotation , and there Is very little stock going into the coolers . This time a year ago there were easily over 100 , 000 packages away , hut the movement to the coolers even this week has been exceedingly light it anything , and thi . is liable to cause a higher market within the next rew days , because the trade has got to start stor ing pretty soon .
