Berkshire Rhetoric [Newspaper Article] — Berkshire World and Cornbelt Stockman — 1 August 1910

Berkshire Rhetoric ( Prom the Kremmling , Colorado , Daily News ) . AN ENGLISH NOBLEMAN ARRIVES IN KREMMLINU It gives us pleasure to announce that one of the scions of a very ancient and honorable English family has arrived in the city and will hereafter make this his home . His lordship came in on last Thursday s train . Few recognized his importance for he is of humble and quiet mien . After his long journey he was hungry and thirsty but not one word did he speak of appeal or protest , in fact , though an English gentleman of undoubted genius and dignity , he does not employ the English language at all , he has a tongue of his own . His lordship is a son of the famous Baron Compton , of England . His mother comes of the no less famous family of the Black Robinhoods . Her full title is Silver Tip 141 st . Her father was no less a personage than a duke , his title being Berryton Duke , Jr . and he was pronounced a perfect specimen of his class . Her ladyship , mother of our townsman...

A Good Outlook for Business With the Berkshire Breeders . [Newspaper Article] — Berkshire World and Cornbelt Stockman — 1 August 1910

A Good Outlook for Business With the Berkshire Breeders . From the first of the year up to the present time , orders for Berkshires have been fully up to any former season with us , and I believe it has been the case with all breeders that I have met this season . The late winter and early spring months brought an unusual demand for sows bred to farrow spring litters , and this demand still continues in a less urgent way . I do not believe there is a breeder of Berkshires who had enough bred sows to fill his orders for the first four months of the year . Since the early summer has opened up , there seems to be a good demand for young stuff for fall and winter use , and also quite a demand for show animals from those who contemplate making the great fair circuits ; altogether orders of this kind with the general demand for choice pigs from early litters keeps the business in a very rising condition . It is a pleasure to note that the opening sales of the season are proving a success ...
