TELEGKAPIIIC NEWS. (Special Dispatches to Thk Citizkw. J , ARIZONA. PaJsmx, May 26. Harvesting in this valley has just got fairly started, ami the nxingof agricultural macbinery lias been one of the industries vtm the' past- few weeks. KverytliinK now indicates a rapid harvest, the principal cause of which is the high price of grain at cue present lime, while grain on the Qila can be bought lor one and one-quarter to one and one-half, dealers nere are nrm lor two ana one-nan cents, and are not disposed to sell even at that price. Everything seems to Indicate a much higher figure for barley than what was obtained last season. The cause of this raise is the small quantity produced this year. Last year there was upwards oi four million pounds of barley raised in the valley; add to this the amount re maining over from previous year, some thing over one million pounds, would make the amount oi barley in the mar ket here last year aboul five and one-half million pounds. Nearly all of this...

THE CITIZEN. .SATURDAY, JUNE 5. 1875. Guaymas and Tucson Railroad. The federal government has made all the required concessions, and a company has been formed in California with a cap ital of $7,000,000 to build the road. We have the best of reasons to believe that the work will commence on the road at an early day and be prosecuted to comple tion as fast as men and money can build It. The country from Guaymaa to Tucson is most favorable for the rapid and cheap construction of the road, and it will pass through a very desirable and rich section nearly all the way. With the construc tion of this road new life villi be injected into Sonora; a class of people will come in with means and develop the various resources of the country and of necessity the government will be compelled to give better security to life and property. The road will make Guaymas the center from which the great Interior of Sonora, Chi huahua, Sinaloa and a portion of Arizona and New Mexico will obtain their goods,...

THE CITIZEN. SATURDAY. JUNE 26, 1875. CAMP APACHE AFFAIRS. Agent Clam aiid Others in Author ity. May 1. a correspondence about Camp Apache affairs appeared in The Citizen, That matter appeared because it related to important public interests and was be lieved then as now to be true in all essen tial particulars. We have no personal or pecuniary motive in publishing anything relating to the Indian business at Camp Apache or other localities, but we very much doubt if the author of the letter which recently appeared in The Miner, The Alta, and The Sunday Herald (Wash ington.) and likely in other journals that would print It, can truthfully say as much. But let that go, for the letter is weak and oarries evidence on its face of insincerity In the writer and ill will towards Agent Clum. Its mere statements are trifling and mainly unworthy of notice, and would not be notloed but for the spirit dis played towards Mr. Clum; and even this phase of the case, if entirely new, would not receiv...

SATURDAY, JUNE 28. 1875. LOCAL MATTERS. i The Public School Exhibition. I This exhibition came off on the 18th j and was in every particular a great suc- cess. The chief features of the exhibi- i tion, so far as the bovs were concerned, 'was a very thorough examination of the ' various studies they had pursued in ! school, though many ol them spoke j pieces in very good style. The examina . tiou showed that the teacher has been very careful to have the pupils under !6tand thorougrhlv what they pass over in I the progress of their studies, from the ; oldest to the youngest.
