We have received the following sensible suggestions from a friend in Texas a gentleman who does not -write for "the papers," but evi de'ntly hits seen much in his section of the South that needs changing. Wc hope many of our readers will follow them. He says we need Deep plowing breaking up the ground in the fall a diversity of crops. . A farmer should never buy anything that his farm could be made to produce; fruits and veget ables should be abundant if not, the farmer's pocket and his family's health will suffer. The bct kind of stock and implements should be used and taken care of. In these respects we fail deplorably.
