The figures up to an early hour today were as follows: Dead 38. Causes—By fireworks 9; by cannon 1 ;by firearms II; by explosives, 7; by toy pistols, 4; by runaway. 1 by drowning, 5. Injured, 2,7e9. Causes —By fireworks, 1.099; by cannon, 261; by firearm?, 393; by ex plosives, 697; by toy pistols, 304; by runaways, 35. Fire loss $66,450. Last year 42 persor.s were killed outright, but when lookjaw and other diseases induced by injuries bad com pleted their work, over 400 lives had been sacrificed. FREIGHTER CRUSHED TO DEATH BY HIS WAGON James Price of Waterville Found Dead in Corbaley Canyon-Was At tempting to Manage Two Wagons John Lund, a piano salesman, who came down from Waterville this morn ing, reports the finding of the body of a man in Corbaley canyon, between Urondo and Waterville. The regular Waterville stage was coming down the oanyon early in the forenoou when a loaded wheat wagon and a trail wagon were seen in the road in the canyon at a point about five miles this side of Waterville. The way ens were standing still and when the driv er of the stage went forward to inves tigate the reason for the blocking of the road, tonnd the bony of a man named Price, who was well known freighter on that road, ly ing under tbe wheels of the loaded wheat wagon.
