Tha Chicago Tribune of jestcrdaj, inmi up tha latest news as follows : It appears now that Ceotcrvillo ant Fairfax arc still occupied bj onr troops, and that the enemy hare not ventured across Ball's Knu. Under all the circum stances, this news is about as startling as the intelligence of our fatal defeat. It is repotted by way of Winchester that the rebel General Johnston was killed in the battle. Doubtful. The rebel estimate of their own loss in killed and wonnded is 3,000. On onr aide the number is red.iced to 1,000 by the most careful reckoning. Col. Bnrnside's Rhode Island battery is saved, and fix other guns have been se cured by Col. Einstein of the Pennsylva nia 27th, iho vmt back to the field of bat tit.
