A man cleaning the upper story of a building threw an empty ale bottle out ol the window, striking Miss Alice Delatombe upon the head, in flicting a severe wound, and completely prostrating her. Court adjourned onihelSth. MARIETTA. Wm. Atkinson's house, Big Run, was entered by a burg lar, and Mr. A. was overpower ed and robbed of SID.-Tiie disappearance of John M. Woodbridge is still a mystery. On Wenrtesdsy, 15th inst., a littla daughter of lieiij. Ililde brand, of Fearing township, '.god 5 years, was accidentally cut in the bowels, making a wound four inches long, sev ering the whole integuments, and laying open tha bowels. The sale of the RoU ling Mill has been confirmed by Ooinrt, and the gentlemen purchasing will commence work immediately. Court is in session, Jucl-re Plyley pre siding. Vincent Brodbeck's stable and Mrs. Eberharfs house were destroyed by fire. Three suits lor damages for selling liquor will be brought at the present term of Courl; one for $10,V)09 damagei, and two for 5,000 each. A de stiuctive fire occurred on the 6tb, destroying the Taylor House, Massie Hall, and tke other houses of the Wock in which they were situated. The great political excite ment of the past week has been tthe removal of Senator Sumner Iro n the chairmanship of tba Committee on Foreign Rela tions. The disorganizes have seized upon it, and are using it to the irjury of tho party by -representing that it is a part of the I'rtf ide itl's game to force his Sau Domingo policy on the country. We hardly think the Senate would have consented to his removal if liie difference 01 the San Domingo question had been the only grounds. But it is well known that Sumner is not on speaking terms with either the President or the Sec retary of State, and that his sentiments in regard to the Al abama claims partake too much of the spread-eagle to be con sidered a by the Joint High Commission who now have that matter in hand.
