At Whampoa, Dec. 12th, "Coquette," for Shanghae soon. At Whampoa, same date, for Now York, vessels Panama, John Q. Adams, Heber, Sea Witch, and Yumchae. Vessels Ashburton and Congress, uncert'n. Indiana, for Estapa, (Cent. Amer.) soon. Sailed from Whampoa, in Nov., for New York, vessels Huntress, Horsburg, and Touquin. In Dec. Rainbow, Inca, Tartar, Eliza Warwick, and Oneida. Evidence at the trial of Mackenzie Beverly, by Court Martial. up to Meg's, and some one came in and said that a man was dead in George's [Denecke,] house, went down to see and found that it was Mr. Doernte who was dead; he was reclining on a table, his mouth bloody. Did not see prisoner fire the rifle, it was too dark, did not see the prisoner about Denecke's house at any time. Saw that Doernte was shot in the breast Did not see prisoner in Denecke's house after tho firing of the rifle. Cross examined Could not tell who it was that said 'my rifle is gone, I must go and get it ' Did not see Beverly act at all riotous. A good many people were present, and witness was behind the house so that he could not have seen the gun fired if it had been light. Witness dismissed and court adjourned.
