— I ... l pSTOur latest telegraphic intelligence indicate that the Federal army in beginning to move in the right direction. The fleet that has been so long in preparing for operation on the Southern roust has at length struck a blow, the most important since the cominence-M.-iii of hostilities. Beaufort, an imtown on Port Royal has been t, u a, and is now in possession of the federal troops. South Carolina will be ncc.s utated to call home from Virginia her troop--, to defend her own sacred soil. Beauregard will be weakened on the l'otoraa*!, which, together with his scanty means for supplying his vast army through a winter campaign, will make it an easy matter for McClcilau to crush out the rebellion. A demonstration, if not already com- 1 mcnced, will be made upon Charleston, and we have no doubt, with success, that will fill the Confederates with consternation, ar.d will force a score or two of their leaders to seek a more genial clime for protection. The Weather.—On Sunday nigh...
