Church of England Bazaar The long-talked of Bazaar and Art Union iu aid,of the funds of tbe local Church of England was opened in the Assembly Hall on Wednesday evening, and the committee and officers are to be congratulated most heartly on the Bucc.-ss which attended tbe opening night, and it is to be hoped the same success will wait on the efforts yet to be made. The attendance was very largu, and at intervals during the evening the hall was rather ' ineouveuieutly crowded. At naif-past seven o'clock, the Mayoress (Mrs. Nelson) iu a few ap propriate words declared the Bazaar open, aud the proceedings started with the *' May Pole Dance ' by 12 girls. .The ability with which the young per formers acquitted themselves .reflected great credit upon Mrs. Lawler, who was responsible for this part of the programme.
