NO LICENSE MEETING. RESOLUTIONS OARRIED. A no license demonstration was held at the Temperance Hall on Thursday. It was organised by the Rov. Archer Iarris, of the Victorian Alliance, and some loeading temperance workers oc cupied seats on the platform. Rov, C, Brower presided. The proccedings were opened with lantern slides showing what hal been done in Omaru and Clutha in New Zealand in the interest of temperance reform. The total prohibition of the liquor traffic wan an ideal to which temlpnranco workers were now giviug serious thought, as it took no risks for the suppression of the trnaffic. Mrs Pratt, Miss Waito and Miss Phillips contributed musical items. The Rev. Archer Harris, in a review of the Temperance movement in Eog land, referred to the efforts made in that direction by the Aequith Ministry.
