THK RECEPTION. The formal reoeption took place at the Imperial Hotel shortly aftar 1 o'clock, when there were present, in. addition to the Aldermen, Mr. P. E. Stirton, Mr. Thurburn, Mr. Jenkins, Mr. F. W. Kirkby atjd others. The (acting) Mayor, Aid. D. E. Kirkby, occupied tho Chair, and, on rising, said he had much pleasure in proposing the health of tho Hon. the Minister for Works— Mr. O'Sullivan— and the othor distinguished visitors. He apologised for the absence of the Mayor, and then went on to say that he understood that it was on the voto of Mr. O'Snllivan that they really cot the railway which now connected Narrabri with Moree. Horse Market. At a horse sale held by Messra. F. & A. Glcnnie on tho 20th inst., thoro was a f«ir attendance of buyers, but the market nas dull, especially for old worn out horses and weedi. Good hackneys were in better de mand and sold at from £10 10s to £13 10s, unbroken draughts wero in ?trong demand and made from £15 to £17 10s per bead.
