POULTRY NOTES. ? (By "Rose-iComb.") Mr Winter concluded his address tc members of the local club with some views of egg-testing for fertility. Test ing should ;be done from the IVth to the 9th day. This is done to remove all but the infertile eggs. The perfectlv clear egg is quite good enough foi cooking purposes. In the fertile egs the germ appears a dark spot in r-'w centre of a number of bright red vein3. The germ increases as incubation ad vances. At iii'st on one side near the large end, ami by the 17th day k is dark in every pari except the .air-cell end, which has 'been growing larger, and. by the 19th day is occupies about one-third of the interior.
