WEST BOURKE ELECTION. [Newspaper Article] — Kilmore Free Press and Counties of Bourke and Dalhousie Advertiser — 28 December 1865

WEST BOURKE ELECTION. (F.3OU THE ?aOUs.) We can hardly suppose that even the warmest supporter of the Ministry in West Bourke feels proud of the trio of political no nentities who delivered their views of the si. tuation to the electors of Footseray on Sa turday evening. It is scarcely possible to pick out from the seventy-eight representa tives who have returned, ier a time at least, to the quietude of private life, or to the ob scurity from which they should never have emerged, three men more capable of talking nonsense on political subjects, and doing so with an air.of assurance more fitly becom ing, than those who on that occasion went through their lessons. That such an aggre gation of political incapables should -have been concentrated in the representation of one unfortunate district is an example of the unhappy accidents to which representative institutions are liable. We cannot do the electors the injustice of supposing that the measure of their representatives is that of t...
