As the person -who has most to do with the matter, pormit mo to say a fow words, 'which 1 trust will mak'o mutters clear. Your correspondent writes about the matter in a mvstorious manner. He hints, and insinuates, and fires oit'inuondous ; in fact he has found a ' mare's nest,' and w.ints all tho world to onjoy that creepy feeling which fol lows such a wonderful discovery. The Council is at present incomplete, so that tho quickest way to the ratepayers is by means of the press. Plague flouricilies among flirty dwellings. ? In . certain towns ot Asia it is always present. Plague is what is known as a ' filth disease.' Thoroforo houses should be kept clean, aud as much frosh air and sunshine allowed in the rooms as poss ible. All bedding should bo aired daily and kept free from vermin.
