Another important robbery of the California State treasury has just been discovered.- During a term of one of the past trcsurers a lot of scrip was received, and paid off, but kept in the office without mark or cancellation, of other mutilation. Some scoundrel stole about $90,000 of this paid scrip, and $22,000. has been presented to the Treasurer during the past year by Wells Fargo St Co., and State bonds issued for it. THE MARKETS. Eeportedfor the Central Pratt Bellefonte. Dec. 16.1858. Heavy rains and bad roads have tad their diliterious influence upon almost all kinds of business. The effect on the grain rflarket has been greater than most people would suppose —=and one may add, that the receipts have, on an average, been smaller this season than during the same time any former year. This has had a tendency to render prices very uncertain, though the wheat in store has so far kept that grain at ordinary steady rates. We quole below, prices as they were at uopn yesterday.
