The following petitions and communications were received and properly disposed of: One from the managers of Wills' Hospital, asking Councils to oleot certain managers; from the Diligent and Humana Hose Companies, asking to be located as steam engine companies; from the Mayorstating tbat he had approved of oertain bills; from Wm. Q. and J. Watson, asking the city to direct the Chief Engineer not to publish in bis report the statement that J. E Stevenson is the inventor of a certain turbine wheel. Tbe communication further says, the wheel sow in use is a pattern ot tie wheel as put upfor experiment, by them; J E.
