INDIAN PROFESSOR TALKS AT CHAPEL Dr . Yosii Gives Interesting Talk on Subject of World Peace Dartmouth s professor of Oriental Philosophy , Dr . Samuel Tossi , addressed the A . U . student body in chapel on October 8 . Dr . Hutchins Introduced him as a friend of our Dr . _Fosdick . His keynote was Edith Cavell s Patriotism is not enough . We must love our country intelligently . Although Americans stand at the front of modern civilization , they should catch a vision of culture outside of their own country . We must keep our eyes on the entire horizon of humanity and not be led astray by delusions that make us attach values to things fleeting . Plato s idea that education was to fit the youth for a definite part in our social organizations as well as to help him obtain a glimpse into absolute reality waa Dr . _Yossis concluding thought . Hallowe en Spirits Begin to Ad I had raced with the last suns ray . Now one star beckoned me on . I had forgotten the path and my eyes were blinded by the beauty of the lights I had been following . Suddenly I felt cold water . There in front of me was a bubbling spring . Strange , lonesome forms bathed in its waters . They seemed familiar . They were lovers I had seen strolling . . . months ago happily . . . now they walked alone fearing the dread watchman or porter as you will . I could not stand the sight . I ran and stumbled . Cold walls enclosed me . Through a light in the crevice of the rock I saw the dim outlines of books . One ... a Decamerone revised by M . Varrelman ; When Shall We Five Meet Again . . . Mile . DeWitt ... I sat and read , but the philter taken at the spring had begun its work . A door opened and I stood in a room with a gruesome object . Ah , a bed with curtains . Under the counterpane a slight form stirred . The inscription : All those who disdain to sleep...

Seven Professors Here Are Listed in 1928-29 Edition ofWho s Who Most of us probably regard Who s Who as a dusty , dry reference book , full of old statistics concerning people whom we neither know nor care anything about . However , even a casual observation will prove that this is not the case . True , we will not find here life histories of our student acquaintances , even the bril llant A students ( that is left foi the Who s Who of 1950 ) , but we will find the names and interesting facts concerning the lives of a number oi the men who are guiding us along the hard and thorough path of knowledge . From these old statistics several interesting comparisons and conclusions may be drawn . In the first place , we find that from our small faculty , seven are mentioned in the 1928-29 Who s Who which is approximately twenty-five per cent . We discover , too , that , although women make up about one-fourth of the faculty , all of its Who s Who-ers are men ! ( What a blow to the feminists...
