If plans discussed at last Wednesday's Jamboree Committee meeting bear fruit, the 83 year old Short — reportedly "the spitten' image" of the legendary Uncle Sam figure -- will ride down Main Street in the big 1976 parade on a specially constructed float which will also carry the Liberty Bell now housed at the American National Bank in Austin. The battle of the Alamo was re-enacted at Alamo Village which is located near Brackettville on the Happy Shahan Ranch.
