Williamson has been coaching the four for four years now, a rarity in high school coaching. Most varsity coaches will be fortu- nate to have a couple of star freshmen with which they can spend four years. Since the Mustangs first two years of play were at the junior varsity level before making the jump to varsity last season, Williamson has coached the four since the school's opening. "This group is really special to me because they've been here all along," the coach said. "They've come along and they're young guess. She saw potential in us and she knew she could take us far and now, she has." Moving on With a hopeful deep play...

ft I Thursday, October 27, 2005 - THE SACHSE NEWS - Section B Page 5 Mi Sports Wylie volleyball prepares for playoff clash with Sulphur Springs By Greg Ford The third part of Wylie's volley- hall season begins Thursday in Royse City. It's there that the Lady Pirates, who finished 30-6 overall and 8-2 in District II-4A, begin the play- offs against Sulphur Springs. The contest starts at 7:30 p.m. "Obviously, they are a good team, so we are definitely going to have to be ready," Wylie head coach Deanna Toler said. The Lady Pirates are also a "good team," something they have repeatedly demonstrated the last few weeks, by dominating their district opponents, except for Mesquite Poteet, enroute to a sec- ond-place finish. Potcet, the district champ, was the only team to defeat Wylie, doing it twice during the district season. Among the Lady Pirates' victims was Highland Park, a traditional Wistrict power that has had Wylie's number in the past. This season, though, Wylie ral- . Iied to b...

The duo won the district match up. Sachse finished third in the tournament. By Adam Boedeker The Sachse tennis team couldn't have opened the District 11-5A tournament any better. The Mustangs beat Lakeview Centennial into submission in the first match up Oct. 18, winning the first nine matches in straight sets. The girls only played three matches with Jillian Harvey. Aryn McCasland and Madison Douglas. All won, along with all six boys. The next day proved to be tougher for the Mustangs as they ran into a buzzsaw in the form of the Garland Owls. Garland defeated Sachse 10-6, knocking the Mustangs out of con- tention for a spot at the regional tournament, before the Owls even- tually upset perennial favorite and No. I-seeded Rowlett in the final. Sachse finished third. "Rowlett is really good, so for Garland to beat them...
