Federal Elections. TO THE ELECTORS OF MORETON. ! Ladies & Genti.emkx. — I have the honour to offer mvself as a candidate for re-election to the Parliament of the Com monwealth, and I solicit the same gener ous measure of support as was accorded me at the last Federal Election. \t that time, except for the Constitn- I tii-n Act itself, the Common-wealth Statute Book was a blank ; but during the two ye irs and seven months which have since elapsed, a large number of liberal and democratic measures have been passed, a a feu- of which I may here enumerate. Departing from the order in which ther were* introduced and passed, and hav'ing regard to their importance as factors making for the up-building of a free, prosperous, and happy community in the Commonwealth. I would give pride of place to the measures dealing with electoral matters. These consist of a Franchise Act which is the broadest. most liberal, and the most democratic the world has ever known : for not only has it take...
