THE COMING STRUGGLE. [Newspaper Article] — Kilmore Free Press and Counties of Bourke and Dalhousie Advertiser — 14 December 1865

THE COMING STRUGGLE. IF on any occasion it behoved the better class of citizens to take an active part in politics, it is their duty to do so now. If they would not be for ever given over to the IIGINBotiiAm dominion-if they would not have their liberty and their property rest in the hands of that curious despot--if they would not see. established in permanence that system of rule of which we have had a trial during the last six months-if they would retain their rights as subjects of the English crown, they are bound to arouse and to arm themselves for the coming strug gle. Every man to whom freedom of thought and of action fre dear--every man of education 'and :iitelligence-every man who has the smallest stake in the country - every man above the class which boo-hoo at public meetings-has a deep and personal interest in taking part in the-contest. It is a duty which canuotbseevaded on any of the usual pleas which are offered for political in difference. This is like no other crisis...
