KUIKE, BdlMr. Camp meetings are uncommonly frequent in Texai this year, and there is occasionally a latal affray on the grounds. The conTerts are ro numerous that one preacher expressed a hope of soon making the whole State pious. It was daimei by some of the epeakers of the National Liberal league that $2 would pay a railroad to take a man from Chicago to New York. The other $18 went to folks that ought not to have it. Irfch Landlords. A large majority of the fanners of Ireland hat e no le.tse of the 1 anil they till, but pay the rent from jcar to jeaf, liable at any time to be ejected, as some time they are for trivial offcn-es. There seems no'link of sympathy on the part of the landlords for liic welfare or pro-perity of their tenantry. The. busi ness part'of reeching the rents is done through agent', and, unfortunately, thee are Tallied in many Instances bv their employers ontheirabilitvto collect the rents without p.ningmucli attention as to the method adopted. Ilmoinet and talked to many Irish farmers who never .iw their landlord, although liv ing on their places all their live. There aru some few good, kind-hearted land lords in Ireland, who giie encourage ment and take an interest in theirtenant- rv, and these show it at a glance, for they lfve in habitable houses, and farm their land to better advantage. THE DODGE CITY TIMES. DODGE CITY. SATUKDAY. OCT. i. SUBSCRIPTION': 2 00 per year, in adrance NICHOLAS B. KUI.fE, Editor. HAY. We have stated that twice the quantity cf hay bad been pat Dp in Ford county over the crop of list year. A farmer told us be did cot know what could Le done with so much hay. Nearly every farmer in the fast end of the county had more hy thin wts needed for his stock. We pointed to the fact that a demand for hay would be mde from Colorado and New Mexico, and that really the settler, by having a supply cf hay. were much better off than we bad supposed. The drouth in Colorado and New Mexico has shortened the winter grass in those sections of country, and a demand for hay for winter feeding will be made on Kansas. The feeding cf hay in this section of country promises to be a necessity in the future. The ranee is being well filled with cattle, and cattle men in a very short time will be obliged to herd their cattle in the winter season. To provide for winter feed...

This proJuct eeems likely lo be one cf importance and proEt. Last week we etateJ that man? farmers in Fonl county had an extra eupp'y of hay on hand, which would afford them means of tubsutence. We believe hay-making will be one cf our profitable indtutries after a while. Everywhere aloe; the line cf the railroad can be found an immense quintity of hay; and this year's product is meeting with great demand at fair pneef. In West ern Kansas In a year cr two we shall have a large euppl r, and can furnUh cheaper hay than that ehijiped from the eastern part ol the State. An idea of the hiy businew can be formed by the following from the Topeka Commonwealth: The hay crop ol Shawnee county is very large, and is the Bource of much revenue to our farmer! and commission house?. Stock and Farminglnteretts. . Questions of great practical importance most arise between proprietors of land and owners of stock, wbeoeTtr and whererer these two ioterests are represented to any considerable extent within the same com munity. In this region tbeie is perhaps no question which will give rise to more dis putes or create a greater amount of litigation than that relating to the trespass of stock upon land. It may not be impropjr to discti33 some of the reas.ns upon which this hypothesis is predicated. As when the mariner, warned and already prepared lo meet the danger of the coming storm, bas the "drop" on the buffeting fury of the angry waves, so will stock-men and farmers be able to avoid the unpleasantncsj of dreidlnl disputes and the terrible onus of expensive law-suits, by hav ing timely considered their relationship to this important subject, and understand same thing of the duties and liabilities attached to their respective interests.
