Cowling Narrowly Escaped with Life From an Auto Smashup North of Canyon. PASSING IT ALONG. GOOD PROGRAM FOR FARMERS' INSTITUTE ARE GUESTS OF FACULTY AND ' TOWN PEOPLE, MONDAY. Taken to Cooleys Canyon Where They Enjoyed Big Picnic Dinner and Sight Seeing. Monday was a great day for it the students in the Normal and those of the town people who joined them in a holiday trip to the canyons twelve miles east of town. The morning was very cool, and the crowd bundled in overcoats and shawls, started from the court house at nine o'clock. The canyons were reached by noon and after a short breathing spell to recuper ate from the effects of a twelve mile jolt on wagons, the crowd was treated to an immense pic nic feast near the spring in the Cooley spur.
