July Marysville Is In a state of excitement over the murder of George Ball, manager of the lidding Soda Works, which was committed about 1 o'clock this morning. Tbe perpetrator tried to bide the crime by burn ing ihe building In which it was committed. About 12:30 o'clock Ball parted with some friends to retire. Thirty minutes atteiward a Die alarm was turned In, which wis caused by a slight blaze in the soda works. The monthly meeting of the Board of Health was held last night with Mayor Pond in the Chair. Drs. Le Tourneux, McQuesten, Fiske and Davidson, and Health Officer Keeney and Secretary Hoesch were also present. The main business transacted was the ac ceptance of Dr. W. F. Finnie's resignation from the position of Kesident Physician at the City and Couuty Hospital and the ap pointment on the motion of Dr. Davidson of Dr. W. P. Simpson, the change being madeiwith unctuous cilerity aud without any hitch in double- time. Dr. McQuesten somewhat shook up the proceedings by stating that he had sam pled the milk furnished by the contractor to the City and County Hospital and had found it fully one-third water and literally swarming with consumptive microbes.
