Corn is ready to harvest for filling the silo abotlt the same time it is ready for harvesting the fodder; the grains should be well dented and glazed and a few of the lower lea,'es turn ed brown. If the corn is cut too green the silage %will be sour, and the feeding value decreased while, on the other hand, if the corn is too ripe it will not pack well in the silo, a large amount of water will be necessary to insure its keeping quality, and there is danger of dry rot which lowers the feeding value. Sorghum should be harvest ed for the silo while the seed are in the dough stage. Like corn, if it is left in the field until it has become too dry, the silage will contain a large amount of indigestible mate rial, and will not make a good quality of silage. The time of harvesting the crop for filling tile silo that is,...

Very Encouraging, And Ten Reasons. From present indications, our fall attendance will be the heaviest in the history of the institution. We are now getting from sixty to seventy-five requests each day for catalogues from those interested in attending. There are several reas ons why those desiring to thorough ly pepare themselves for a success fulbusiness career should select our institution. First, we meet the demands of the business office or we would not be enrolling two thousand students annually from over the union. Second, we have our own specially prepared and copyrighted text hooks andmethods of teaching the most important subjects. This enables us to give a better training in less time and at less expense, Third, our work is practically all arranged on the individual plan of instruction there by enabling each student to ad vance as rapidly as his ability will permit. The dull student is not over crowded by the fast one, or the fast student held back on ac. count of the dull ...
