DEC 1982 8ACH8E.TEXA8 THE 8ACH8E SENTINEL PAGE 8 Tips for Homebuyers The Veterans Administra- tion advises that a common er- ror made by veterans when buying a home with a VA loan guarantee is to think that the only cost will be a small down payment if required by the lender plus monthly payments of principal and interest on the •ortgage. Potential home buyers should keep in mind the following additional costs, said the Director, Waco VA Re- gional Office, since they must be paid and can add up to a substantial outlay of cash. -Closing Costs: Have suffi- cient cash to make the down payment, which is the dif- ference between the purchase price and the amount of the loan. A buyer also may be re- quired to pay for the title search, title insurance, survey, credit report, appraisal fee, recording fee, transfer taxes and a lender's origination fee. Distribution of closing costs may be agreed to in the con- tract of purchase. -Prepaid Items: Although these are part of the regular or recur...

DEC 1982 SACHSE.TEXAS THE SACKSE SENTINEL PAGE 11 From The 1982 Activities of The Sachse Booster Club THE WATERMELON FEAST Booster Club members spent the month of October planning and preparing for the haunted house. The month of Novem- ber was spent recuperating. Lots of time, imagination and most of all a lot of fun was put forth. The young as well as older people were scared. Most of the comments were "Best haunted house we've been to", "This one really scared me". People scrambled to get away from ghosts and goblins and no one seemed to mind waiting as fallen walls or caved in tun- nels were repaired and many who enjoyed being haunted returned for a second time. The club, themselves had some unexpected visitors, who enjoyed their haunted house so much that they came back for souvenirs. The Booster Club made $1,800 to help support little league for the next ball season, less $400 loss of equip- ment due to visitors. Members of the Booster Club express their gratitude to Sparky Be...
