GOVERNMENT NOTICE. Colonial Secretary's Office, Oct. 9, 1826 IN furtherance of the Arrangement communicated in the preceding Gar- rison Order, the LIEUTENANT GOVER- NOR desires, that all Magistrates, Con-     stables, Settlers, and others, who may require Military Aid in the Pursuit of Felons, will apply at the nearest perma- nent station ; to which all information, that may be likely to lead to their Appre- hension, is to he forwarded with every   practicable Promptness and Despatch. The Services of Lieutenant CURTIN, of the 40th Regiment, will be chiefly con- fined to Great Swan Port and its Neigh- bourhood ; and as great Irregularities have been reported to exist there, that Officer has been appointed a Magistrate, to whom all Communications, affecting the Police of the District, are accordingly to be made. With a View to putting a Stop to the Atrocities which have been com- mitted by the Bushrangers, who have lately escaped from Launceston Gaol, the Colonel Commanding has been pleased to direct, that Detachments of Troops shall be permanently stationed through out the Districts.
