At various times there has been negotiations between the authorities of the University of Melbourne and   the Department of Agriculture re- garding the provision of a University training farm. At the meeting of University Couoncil on Monday a a letter will be read from Dr.   Cherry, professor of agriculture,   asking that the Government be approached regarding the matter. When questioned on the subject Professor Cherry said that the pro- posal was that the University should work in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture. At   present University students were obtaining their practical work partly at Dookie and partly at the Sparrowvale Farm, at Geelong. If the scheme were adopted, and the University had a farm in the neighbourhood of Werribee, practical work would he carried on there in- stead of at Sparrowvale.
