Sad Fatality.         A sad fatality occurred at Pikedale, Junee Reefs, on Monday last. Two     brothers, sons of Mr. L. E. Pike, aged five and three and a half years respec-       tively, were playing with a loaded gun   when the weapon exploded, the charge entering the younger boys cheek and coming out at the back of his head, resulting in his death and the older lad was severely injured in the groin.

ADELONG CROSSING. (From Our Own 'Correspondent). A meeting of the Racecourse Trus tees was held at tho Coach and Horses Hotel on v' Saturday ' evening last. There were present : Messrs. W. D. Heather, (chairman and sefBetary), W. Manns, A. H. Turner, and James Neve. The minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed. Correspondence having been read, tenders for one year's lease of the racecourse wero opened from the fol ing:— W. S. Bootes, W. Paton, G. T. Freeman, and Edward Hussett. Mr. Manns proposed, and Mr. Turner seconded, that the tender of W. S. Bootes at £25 for the year bo accepted, it being tho highest received. A re quest from the military authorities to get the use of the racecourse for a couple of hours of an afternoon periodically, for drilling purposes, was .granted. The Secretary was asked to write and explain this extra condition to the lessee of the course. It was resolved to erect a new double-gate at the frontage entrance to the race course. The meeting ...
