LAND COURT BOARD. A SITTING of the Land Court Board was held at the local Court House yesterday. Present: Messrs. F. G. Finley (Chair- man) M. H. Fitzhardinge, and I. Wheroat Ms.L.B., Messrs. J.   Edwards (Recording Clerk) and J. B. Wisdom, (Inspector of C.Ps.) and Burgess (District Surveyor) were also present.   The following is a list of the business transacted:— William Wallace, sen., application for C.P. 99-58 of 41 A., and C.L. 99-66 of 123a. DEATH OF CORPOKAL HARXUS. ConroRAL Harkus, who was ono of tlio best-known men in Now South .Wales Lancor Rogimont, lmn, like ninny another bravo fellow, ended his career in South Africa. Colonol Burns recently rbcoived n letter from Captain Cox, wl'o ia in cliurgo of tho Lancers on activo service, convoying tlio information. The commu nication was dated April 10, and slated that six days previously Corporal Harkus had diod in the hospital at"Bloeuifontoiu. Several othor members of tho squadron wero also in tho hospital, but their' "oasev were not critical, and, tjikon altogether, the health of tho rest of tho men, Captain Cox said, was very good when compared with that of other regiments! Corporal Harkus was an activo member of tho Lancer Regiment, and was perhaps tho most prominont member in .military sports that tho colony has producod.
